All you need to know - FAQs
How do I sign up? | You can click on the link on the right-hand side of the timetable, opposite the club you would like to book onto. Still need help? Click on the following link that will take you through the process step by step: https://knowledge.teamfeepay.com/joining-teamfeepay-guide All clubs are paid in advance for the term. No cash is taken. You will need to register your details and pay before you can be accepted on any of the clubs. |
Who leads the Clubs? | Mr Godley is the Activity Clubs Manager, and also leads each Sports Club. Mr Wanniarachchi also assists during these sessions. Kimberley Manser is the Leader for Singing, Mariannys Lopez is the Club Leader for Spanish, and Zahra Najafzadeh is the Leader for Art Club. All Leaders are DBS checked and have significant experience in their field. |
What does my child need to bring/wear? | We ask that children wear suitable clothing for each activity club. For non-sport classroom based activities, school uniform is permitted. For sports, a t-shirt, shorts, socks and trainers are fine for indoor activity clubs, and outdoor sports it may be best to wear a tracksuit and even a coat. Football will be played on the MUGA unless it’s in spring/summer, so players should wear shin pads and trainers. Every child should have a non-fizzy drink. |
What will my child learn? | Each club has a framework of skills and knowledge to learn each week. All clubs will look to challenge individuals at an appropriate level for their age and ability. The emphasis will always be on improving confidence, skills, knowledge, and ultimately having lots of fun in the process! |
My child has no experience of playing sports, can she/he still sign up? | Yes! Our activity clubs are for all abilities, girls and boys alike. If you sign up during a course, you will only pay for sessions that are left. |
Where do the children meet? | A.M ARRIVAL: We ask parents to drop their children at the GLASS STAIRCASE AT THE FRONT PLAYGROUND 7.55.AM where the Club Leader will meet the group. P.M ARRIVAL: KS1 Children leave their class at the end of their day and meet their Club Leader in the LOWER HALL. KS2 leave their class at the end of the day and meet their Club Leader in the UPPER HALL. |
Where do I collect my child from? (P.M only) | P.M COLLECTION – children will be signed out from the GLASS STAIRCASE FRONT PLAYGROUND AT 4:30PM. Parents must come into the playground to collect. Please do not ask children to meet you outside of the school entrance. |
My child has medication at school, can they access this during club if needed? | No. Medication at school should not be removed from your child’s class. We ask that parents pack additional medication/inhalers in their child’s bag for every activity club. This way, medication will not be taken home by accident and leave the school without it if needed. In the event of a child not having their medication they may not be able to participate in the activity club. |
I cannot attend an activity club, what is the process? | The session will of course still take place, as we have other children taking part. There will be no refunds or adding sessions that a child missed to the next term’s booking. If you know in advance that your child will be absent, please email impact@longfieldprimary.co.uk. |
What happens if the weather is bad during an outdoor session? | All outdoor activity clubs will go into a hall in the event of adverse weather where the activity will continue. |
Are numbers limited? | Yes, we can only take 16 children per class and it will on a first come first serve basis. If we have demand for additional spaces, we will look to arrange an additional coach where possible. *Please note that for an Activity Club to run we require a minimum of 6 children booked on to run the class. |
Policies | We adhere to the relevant policies of Longfield Primary School. These include Safeguarding & Child Protection, Whistle-blowing, Anti bullying, Health & Safety & Parent Code of Conduct. These can be found on the following page: https://www.longfieldprimaryschool.co.uk/policies/ |
What happens if my child needs first aid? | Mr Godley holds the Level 3 Emergency Aid Award and will have a first aid bag at each session. He will also have a mobile phone to contact parents in the event of an emergency. All contact numbers will be on a register at each session. |
Behaviour & expectations? | All parents will be asked to sign our participant code of conduct as part of the booking process. It is important that children understand that they are responsible for what they say and do, and all children have the right to enjoy themselves to the full. |
What about Covid-19? | Where possible we will try to avoid unnecessary contact, and encourage regular hand sanitation. Indoor activity clubs will be ventilated by opening windows, and equipment will be wiped down before and after use. If your child shows any symptoms of Covid-19 please follow government guidelines https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus |
We look forward to seeing you there! 😊
