Music Curriculum Statement

At Longfield Primary School, it is our intent that we make music an enjoyable and inclusive learning experience. We encourage all children to participate in a variety of musical experiences through which we aim to build up creativity and confidence. Our music teaching provides opportunities for children to create meaningful links with cross curricular topics and increase their prior understanding of music. In addition, our teaching focusses on developing the ability of children to understand the key areas of music such as composition, singing, performance, listening and appraising. With these elements combined, our teaching staff help boost motivation, as well as inspire an enjoyment and enthusiasm for learning about Music throughout their time with us at Longfield Primary School.
