Longfield School Council consists of two peer-elected children from each class, one boy and one girl, from reception to year 5. Year 6 is represented through the Head / Deputy and Assistant head boy & girl, House Captains and Prefects. 

The purpose of our school council is to enable pupils from Longfield to express their views, have them heard and make a positive change not only within the school but also the wider community by organising a variety fund raising events for various charities.

Upper school council meets regularly with Mr Hambling & Mrs Halili; Lower school council meets with Mrs Jarvis & Mrs Halili.

School council has worked on many projects, including raising over £4,000 for Nicaragua during our very own WE Day, the outdoor play area, and buying equipment for a school in India through a charity run by the head teacher, Mrs Virdee.  They play an active role in running assemblies promoting the school vision, 5Rs and other wider issues as well as supporting the playground buddy system and generally keeping the school tidy.
