Parent Information

Welcome to the 5.30p.m Club!

All you need to know for 5.30p.m Club- FAQs

What do we offer?

We offer affordable, activity-based provision for working parents at Longfield Primary School. Children from Reception to Year 6 can attend. (Please note we do not accept children in Nursery).

What activities are available for attendees?

Each day there will be a timetable of indoor and outdoor activities (weather depending). All activities are supervised by an adult, and we will do our best to group children in similar ages. Activities include: Arts & Crafts, Multisport, Fitness, Music, Computing, STEM Construction (Lego, Magnets, building blocks), Board Games and much more. Children will also get the opportunity to read quietly or do homework should they wish, not forgetting free time to play as they wish!

Do we provide food?

We provide a snack for children attending the full duration and this will be served around 4.30p.m. Fruit is available for all children from 3.30p.m. Snack examples are: Pasta, Beans on toast, Pitta Pizza, Waffles, Crackers and cheese. Food is prepared fresh prior to children arriving, and we change the food each day. We are licenced with the local authority to serve food during the club and our kitchen staff hold the Food & Hygiene Qualification.

How do I sign up?

Parents/Guardians email impact@longfieldprimary.co.uk or call/text 07469 542555.

Providing space is available we will email you the registration documents to complete and then return by email.

A booking link will then be sent to you for payment in advance for the month

Payment/fees

Payment is through our online booking system and all bookings are to be paid in advance for the upcoming month.

The cost is £10.50 per session 3.30p.m -5.30p.m. Parents can pick up any time between this period but no later than 5.30p.m. The fee is the same for the full duration or half.

We do not accept government scheme vouchers.

Who works at the club?

Mr Godley is the 5.30p.m Club Director, and we have 6 Activity Supervisors who work within the club on a rota each day. All of our current staff work during the day at Longfield Primary School, and have significant experience working with primary school aged children. All staff have been DBS screened and receive regular training to keep up to date with policies and procedures.

How do the children get to 5.30p.m Club?

Key Stage 1 children will be escorted to the Club by one of their class teachers at the end of their normal school day.
Key Stage 2 children make their own way to the club after their class have been dismissed at the end of the school day.

Where do I collect my child from?

Parent/Guardians collect their children from the glass stair case which is located opposite the staff car park and school playground. Adults collecting will be asked to sign their child out each day.

My child has medication at school, can they access this during club if needed?

No. Any child with medical needs such as asthma or severe allergies that require an epi-pen, must provide the club with a separate bag of medicine to store at the club for easy access.

I cannot attend a day I have booked. What is the process?

If your child is not attending a booked session, we ask that you let us know. The school will not necessarily inform us if a child is absent during the day as we run as a separate entity. There are no refunds for absence / illness.

Are numbers limited?

Yes, and some days are busier than others. To avoid disappointment, we ask that parents book and pay for their dates for the full month in advance. This gives us time to arrange additional staff if necessary.

Policies

To access our policies please visit the following link: Policies

What happens if my child needs first aid?

Each day we will have emergency aid qualified staff on site. All parents provide medical information on the Medical Form/ Permission to administer medication form.

Behaviour & expectations?

All parents will be asked to view our Behaviour Management Policy prior to signing up. The children decide and display the club rules at the start of every year.

Communication

All communication should come through Impact Activity Club Director Mr Godley (details above). The school office do not take emails or calls on our behalf.
