Welcome to the 5.30p.m Club!
All you need to know for 5.30p.m Club- FAQs
What do we offer? | We offer affordable, activity-based provision for working parents at Longfield Primary School. Children from Reception to Year 6 can attend. (Please note we do not accept children in Nursery). |
How do I sign up? | Parents/Guardians contact by email impact@longfieldprimary.co.uk or call/text 07469 542555. Providing space is available we will email you the registration documents to complete and then return by email. A booking link will then be sent to you for payment in advance for the current month. |
Payment/fees | Payment is through our online booking system and all bookings are to be paid in advance for the upcoming month. *We do not accept government scheme vouchers. |
What activities are available for attendees? | Each day there will be a timetable of indoor and outdoor (weather depending) activities. Activities are overseen by an adult. Examples include: Arts & Crafts, multisport, piano, computing, STEM construction (lego, magnets, building blocks), board games and much more. Children will also get the opportunity to read quietly or do their homework. |
Do we provide food? | We provide a healthy light snack for children attending the club and this will be served around 4.15p.m. Fruit is available daily from 3.30p.m should children wish to eat something on arrival. *Please not this is not supposed to replace an evening meal. We ask parents not to provide separate snacks as it can cause upset with other children wanting the same thing! *Please let us know if your child has any allergies on registration. Snack examples: (All vegetarian) Veggie Pasta, Beans on toast, Pitta Pizza, Noodles, Waffles, Crackers & cheese. Food is prepared fresh prior to children arriving, and we change the food each day. |
Who works at the club? | Mr Godley is the 5.30p.m Club Director, and he oversees a group of experienced supervisors who work within the club on a rota each day. All of our current staff work during the day at Longfield Primary School, and have significant experience working with primary school aged children. All staff have been DBS screened and receive regular training to keep up to date with policies and procedures. |
How do the children get to 5.30p.m Club? | Key Stage 1 children will be escorted to the Club by one of their class teachers at the end of their normal school day. |
Where do I collect my child from? | Parents/Guardians collect their children from the glass stair case which is located opposite the staff car park and school playground. Please ring the doorbell. |
My child has medication at school, can they access this during club if needed? | No. Any child with medical needs such as asthma or severe allergies that require an epi-pen/piriton, must provide the club with a separate bag of medicine to store at the club for emergency access. |
I cannot attend a day I have booked. What is the process? | If your child is not attending a booked session, we ask that you let us know. The school will not necessarily inform us if a child is absent during the day as we run separately. There are no refunds for absence / illness as we have to organise staff in advance of the month. |
Are numbers limited? | Yes, we have limited spaces every day. To avoid disappointment, we ask that parents book and pay for their dates for the full month in advance. We cannot guarantee there will be space for parents who book their dates late. |
Policies | To access our policies please visit the following link: |
What happens if my child needs first aid? | Staff are Paediatric First Aid qualified. All parents provide medical information on the Medical Form/ Permission to administer medication form to inform us of any illnesses that require medication. |
Behaviour & expectations? | All parents will be asked to view our Behaviour Management Policy prior to signing up to the 5.30p.m. Children are expected to display good behaviour at all times and to treat all other children and staff with respect. We will speak with parents if we feel a child is not behaving in line with expectations, and if necessary will not be permitted to attend the club in future. |
Communication | All communication should come through Impact Activity Club Director Mr Godley (details above). The school office do not take emails or calls on our behalf. |
