Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium funding

The Pupil Premium allocation is additional funding for publically funded schools in England with the purpose of raising the attainment of these pupils and closing the gap between these children and their peers.

At Longfield Primary School we have always believed that every pupil should be fully supported in order to develop their academic abilities and personal talents in a nurturing and positive environment.

In order to support this process, we have created a team of Pupil Premium Ambassadors who work alongside class teachers to support pupils across the school to ensure that they reach their full potential.

This provision includes:

  • A variety of focused learning interventions both in and out of class.

  • Extra-curricular Booster sessions.

  • Support with improving learning behaviour, developing organisational skills, promoting emotional resilience and creating effective peer relationships.

  • Improving Attendance.

  • Constructing a strong support network between school and home.

  • Providing support for Parents and Carers on how best to support the learning process at home.

  • Providing resources to aid pupils to fully access learning at home.

  • Pupils will be provided with opportunities to take part in a range of social/cultural and sporting activities to further develop social skills and promote self-confidence.

  • Provide a range of support to promote the social, emotional and mental health of pupils.

Reporting

It remains the responsibility of the Head Teacher, or a delegated member of staff to produce regular reports for the Governing Body on

  • The progress made towards narrowing the gap between these pupils and their peers.

  • An outline of the provision that is being made each year.

  • A summary of progress and attainment made by these pupils

The Governors of the school will ensure that there is an annual Pupil Premium Strategy for stakeholders detailing how the Pupil Premium Funding has been used to address the issue of ‘diminishing differences’ for these pupils. This Strategy will be published on the school website.
