Modern Foreign Languages Curriculum Statement

At Longfield Primary School, it is our intent that all children perceive modern foreign languages as a means of international communication and a lifelong skill. Through embracing, promoting and incorporating languages in our curriculum, we offer all children the chance to become citizens of the world and make them strive to break the barriers of insularity. Our school is the proud home for speakers of 38 different languages, both pupils and staff, so inclusion and awareness towards others are the foundation of our work. Learning languages through creative experiences, as well as building confidence when speaking in a foreign language are achieved at Longfield through the work done by our enthusiastic children and lovely staff!
