The Longfield Curriculum

At Longfield, we aim to provide a curriculum that is rich and varied in its content; one which reflects the diverse backgrounds that our pupils come from.  It promotes collaborative and independent learning; challenging and supporting pupils, encouraging them to become learners for life.

The content of our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum, a government document which outlines the expectations of what should be taught in all state maintained primary schools in the country.
The school is adopting The Cornerstones Curriculum throughout all years.  There are topics for each year group that are creative and cross curricular whilst ensuring that the objectives outlined within the national curriculum have been met.  For examples, Year 5 study Alchemy Island.  They will cover geography (physical and human features of places), DT (use a variety of materials to create images) and Science (properties of materials).

Please select a year group to find out the current terms curriculum, or subject to view the objectives.
